Justification for Extension:
|
State Intermediate Punishment Program (SIP) for Regions 1,2 and 3 is mandated by state law. This extension is needed so that services are continue until the new contracts are in place.

Result, if not Approved:
|
Offenders in the SIP Program are receiving addiction treatment and gaps in treatment could result in relapses in the offenders' sobriety. This Program is also mandated by State law 61 Pa.C.S. subsections 4101-4108.
